If you don't like big corporations, and don't like your job at a corporation that doesn't care about you, the best thing you can do is start your own small business or start your own cooperative or start your own employee-owned company. If you really want to change the world and shift power back to the people and the workers, take advantage of the free market to do so. The power is in your hands. Build something that will last that is consistent with your values.

Don't you need a lot of money to start a business?

Not necessarily. It helps, but you can always start with trading services for money. Basically sell your labor directly to the customer, instead of using a corporation as a middle man. You can also sell someone else's product or service, and make money off of every sale you make. Start with a side gig, and then scale it up.

Having money also means you can pay accountants and lawyers to help you deal with all the regulations from the federal to the local level that will try to strangle you. Where you are and what you choose to do can play a huge role in the regulatory burden. Choose wisely.
