We seriously need a new political party in this country.

I suspect you mean a
successful
new party. We seem to get new ones all the time, but most don't last long.

The Republicans replaced the Whig Party. Perhaps it is about time we did something like that again.

The approval ratings and registration in the 2 major parties has been trending down over time, but that doesn't seem to result in a corresponding support of other parties. And when election time comes, they still mostly vote for one of the two. It feels like a chicken and egg problem. They won't vote for someone they don't think can win, but, without support, no one can become winnable.

The Democrats made some fatal mistakes in the last election and seem to be doubling down on those mistakes. If anyone was going to promote a third party to replace the Democrats, now would be the time to do so. It would have to appeal to moderates and left learning folks that that Democrats abandoned. That means socialists and libertarians won't be a good candidate for a replacement. Oh, and we need a rich backer.

Four years ago, it looked like the R's were going to split asunder, with talk about one faction or the other starting a new party. I've not seen that sort of talk about the D's. I'm not sure what that means. Perhaps it means that they still think they ran a perfect campaign and people were just too stupid to vote the correct way. If so, you could be right that they are vulnerable.

Isn't that part of their rhetoric? Everyone else is racist, stupid, or fascist. They are never wrong about anything.
Although, to be fair, the rights calls the left libtards, idiots, and communists, and think they are superior as well.

Why would we need a new party? It is already really expensive to buy off, *cough*, I mean give campaign contributions to the major parties. How would we control things then?
